Each year CIRANO identifies a theme that will structure part of the scientific activities. Given the special context in which we find ourselves CIRANO has chosen to continue in 2020-2021 on the same theme as last year, but in a context with and after COVID-19 where "society will have become more digital".

Re-election of Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin as President and CEO
tw The Chair of the Board of Directors of CIRANO, Louise Roy, is proud to announce that at their September 22, 2020 Board meeting, the members unanimously ratified the early renewal of Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin's term as President and Chief Executive Officer. This will take effect as of June 1, 2021 for a term of 5 years, until May 31, 2026.

Occupations and industries: what are the risks of transmission of COVID-19?
tw Marie Connolly and Catherine Haeck, both Professors at ESG UQAM and CIRANO Researchers, and Pierre-Loup Beauregard, doctoral student at the Vancouver School of Economics, have adapted for Quebec a tool for visualizing risks by occupation and industry related to COVID-19 (tool developed by researchers at the Vancouver School of Economics).

tw With the approach of a potential and much feared second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Quebec, CIRANO unveils the results of a study that takes stock of the perception of risks and compliance with health guidelines by the population in Quebec.
