External Activity: Québec Budget - What New Directions on Major Public Policy Issues?

In collaboration with CIRANO, the Outaouais Section of the Association des économistes québécois offered a 5 to 7 highlighting Quebec economy. More specifically, the first part of the conference focused on the economic situation in Quebec and its regions, while the second part presented the highlights of the 2019 budget and took a critical and constructive look at certain aspects in particular.

Marcelin Joanis

A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 2008, Main researcher of the theme Economic and Fiscal Policy and Researcher in charge of the "Le Québec économique" project, Marcelin Joanis is Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. He is also Director of the Research Group on Management and Globalization of Technology (GMT).

Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto, his main research interests are public economics, public finance and policy analysis. He has participated in many research projects at CIRANO, including projects on fiscal rules, the public debt, regional policies and health care finance.
