BOURSTAD 2019 Simulation Awards Ceremony
For 32 years, BOURSTAD Internet stock market simulation has been attracting the interest of the general public as well as high school, college and university students. Once again, thousands of participants took part in the simulation game during the 2019 edition. To highlight the performance of the most deserving participants, competitors were invited to the closing ceremony, which took place in the auditorium of the Autorité des marchés financiers at Place Victoria on May 15. Prizes totalling $30,000 were awarded to no less than 100 participants!

CIRANO-QICSS Conference as part of the 87th Congress of the Association Francophone pour le Savoir (ACFAS)
As part of the 87th Congress of the Association Francophone pour le Savoir (ACFAS), the conference, organized by the Center for Interuniversity Research and Analysis of Organizations (CIRANO) and the Quebec inter-University Centre for Social Statistics (QICSS), "Data Access: A Pillar for Informed Public Policy", was held on May 27 in Gatineau.

tw Martin Boyer et Pierre-Carl Michaud, professors at HEC Montréal and CIRANO Fellows, and Philippe d’Astous, professor at HEC Montréal, won the prestigious Financial Literacy Research Award at an international forum on financial education and literacy on April 11 and 12, in Washington.

tw Funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ), this network, which brings together researchers from all Quebec universities, will be led by Philippe Gachon, professor at UQAM. Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, President and Chief Executive Officer at CIRANO and professor at Polytechnique Montréal, is a member of its Board of Directors. She is Director of Axis 3: Biological, psychosocial, health, and economic impacts, and associated cost sharing. Ingrid Peignier, Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valorization, as well as several CIRANO researchers will be involved in the network's research activities.

Conference: Assessment of the Short-, Medium- and Long-Term Impacts of the Quebec Infrastructure Program (PQI) on the Quebec Economy

The CIRANO pole on Quebec economy modelization (peMEQ-CIRANO) wishes to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field to promote exchanges between government modelers, with a view to enabling researchers to better understand the needs of the government and users of government models to identify models (existing or to be developed) that would meet their needs. In this context, the results of the project "Evaluation of the short-, medium- and long-term impacts of the Quebec Infrastructure Program (PQI) on the Quebec economy" will be presented.

Roxane Borgès Da Silva, CIRANO Fellow, Associate Professor at École de santé publique de l'Université de Montréal and researcher at the Institut de recherche en santé publique de l’Université de Montréal, is the president of the scientific committee of the convention.
