Holding a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Toronto, Marcelin Joanis is full professor at Polytechnique Montréal. His main research interests are public economics, public finance and policy analysis. He has participated in many research projects at CIRANO, including projects on fiscal rules, the public debt, regional policies and health care finance. Since 2009, he has been the leader at CIRANO of the Québec économique project.
