Economic and Fiscal Policy

Research theme

The Economic and Fiscal Policies research theme focuses on work related to the design and implementation of government fiscal policies.

It addresses issues of public finance, taxation, federalism, and electoral and democratic processes. This theme also includes the financing of public services at all levels of government and the financing of the Canadian federation, federal transfers and the equalization system.

The programming of the Economic and Fiscal Policies theme also includes the work of the CIRANO Pole on Modeling of the Quebec economy. Under the auspices of the Pole, CIRANO conducts work that emphasizes strategic, methodological and long-term thinking.
