Announcement of the winners of the 2021 CIRANO Fiscal Policy Challenge

The 3 winners of the CIRANO Fiscal Policy Challenge 2021 on "The Economic Lessons of the Pandemic" were announced in the presence of the CEO of CIRANO, the responsible researcher, members of the jury and representatives of the Quebec Ministry of Finance:

1st prize : Thomas Boyer (University of Montreal)

2nd prize : Simon Losier (HEC Montreal)

3rd prize : Arthur Adam (University of Montreal).


The winners of the 2021 Fiscal Policy Challenge share cash grants worth a total of $3,000. They will have the opportunity to complete a paid internship at the Ministère des Finances du Québec.

Aimed at university students in economics, political science or any other related field, the CIRANO Fiscal Policy Challenge is a competition whose objective is to find innovative and rigorous solutions to current public policy issues.

 

CIRANO is very pleased with the participation of students representing all of our partner universities. The winners were selected by a committee composed of university researchers and representatives of the Ministère des Finances du Québec based on criteria such as the originality and quality of the analysis as well as the use of economic data.
