Call for field activities for various audiences as part of En avant math!

The En avant math! initiative, under the initiative of CIRANO and the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM), made possible thanks to a grant from the Ministère des Finances du Québec, is launching a second call for field activities. These activities will be aimed at various audiences: preschool, elementary and secondary (including parent-child activities), college and university as well as activities for the general public. As the pandemic situation makes face-to-face activities more difficult to sustain, projects involving virtual, remote activities will be encouraged.

This is the second call for proposals with a total budget of $150,000. In order to be able to award multiple grants, the maximum amount awarded per application will not exceed $15,000 (including indirect research costs where applicable). We look forward to receiving applications for a variety of projects of different sizes.

Grants awarded may support existing or new programs or activities. Eligible expenses include salaries, travel, supplies and materials to support these activities. However, funds cannot be used to support research projects.

The projects submitted will be evaluated by a committee whose members come from the community and work in the fields of teaching and popularization of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).

No later than one year after the grant is awarded, project leaders must submit a final report that includes an assessment of the activities and their progress, a financial statement and a description of the project's impact.
