François Vaillancourt participated in the 6th edition of the Colloque francophone des services des finances des universités canadiennes

François Vaillancourt, Emeritus Professor in the Department of Economics at the Université de Montréal, CIRANO Researcher and Fellow, participated in the 6th edition of the Colloque francophone des services des finances des universités canadiennes, which was held on October 16 and 17 in Orford.

 

Following a request from the National Bank of Canada, a partner of CIRANO, François Vaillancourt made a presentation entitled "Les universités et leur contribution à l'économie québécoise : cadre conceptuel et rendements privé et social" (Universities and their contribution to the Québec economy: conceptual framework and private and social returns). His presentation focused on the general relationship between knowledge, human capital, education and the wealth of nations, and on the private and social performance of university graduation in Quebec by level and field of study calculated using individual data from Statistics Canada censuses and surveys.
