Several CIRANO researchers present at the American Economic Association's 2024 conference

Each January, a three-day conference to present papers on general economic topics is organized by the AEA, in collaboration with 64 related discipline associations known as the Allied Social Science Associations (ASSA). Many experts in economics are brought together to network and highlight new achievements in economic research.

This year's conference took place from January 5 to 7, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas.

Several CIRANO researchers were present to animate or participate in panels related to the Transport and Trade pole.

As in the session: Slowbalization vs. Newbalization: Understanding the Changing Global Landscape.
In this session, Thierry Warin (HEC Montréal, CIRANO) was the moderator. The panel, made up of several experts including Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin (Polytechnique Montréal, CIRANO), critically interrogated the ongoing transformation of globalization, focusing on the nascent phenomena of "Slowbalization" and "Newbalization".
