Réjean Hébert appointed to the Order of Canada

Réjean Hébert (Université de Montréal) was appointed as Officer to the Order of Canada for championing the autonomy of senior citizens through his acclaimed research and policy work in the field of gerontology. Réjean Hébert has been advocating for home care reform for several years.

CIRANO Researcher, Réjean Hébert is Professor in the Department of Management, Evaluation and Health Policy at the École de santé publique at Université de Montréal. He was the first Scientific Director of the Institute of Aging of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Minister of Health and Social Services and Minister Responsible for Seniors in the Pauline Marois government.

The Order of Canada is one of Canada’s highest honours. It recognizes people across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to the country. The level of Officer recognizes achievement and merit of a high degree, especially service to Canada.
