Call for papers JESA special issue on «Behavioral and Experimental Economics for Innovative Policy-Making»

We are soliciting manuscripts for a special issue of the Journal of the Economic Science Association. The special issue is in memory of Claude Montmarquette, professor of Economics, holder of the Bell-Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec chair in Experimental Economics at the Université de Montréal and a co-founder of CIRANO. Claude has been an ardent promoter of the use of behavioral economics and economic experiments for the design and evaluation of public policies, notably in the domain of education, public finance, and labor.

Claude Montmarquette's work provides thoughtful examples of how experimental methods in the field, in the lab and in the society can provide powerful tools to design, evaluate and support innovative private and public policies. In this spirit we are seeking policy-oriented papers that extend and renew the existing experimental and behavioral literature as related to:

*    behavioral mechanism design

*    labor market policies related to job matching, career-building, incentives

*    education and training policies

*    innovation, competition policy and industrial organization

*    environmental policies in the face of climate change

*    nudging and paternalism

*    tax and insurance policies

*    experimental methods for policy evaluation
