Natural hazards - 10 years of CIRANO Barometer data

During the 20th Colloque sur la sécurité civile organized by the Ministère de la Sécurité publique (MSP), Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, Professor at Polytechnique Montréal, CIRANO CEO and Fellow, and Ingrid Peignier, Project Director and Principal Director of Partnerships and Research Development at CIRANO, had the opportunity to present new results from the CIRANO Barometers during a plenary conference: 10 years of data collected by the CIRANO Barometer: evolution and explanatory factors of the perception of risks and the level of confidence related to civil security issues in Quebec.

Each year, this conference brings together nearly 600 people working in the fields of prevention, preparedness, emergency measures and continuity of operations, as well as volunteers in civil security.

In addition to the PPT presentation of the conference, CIRANO offers you special infographics compiling 10 years of data on natural hazards, made to highlight the concerns and the level of confidence of Quebecers towards the issues of floods, heat waves and earthquakes.

About the CIRANO Barometer: For the past 10 years, the CIRANO Barometer on Risk Perception in Quebec has been compiling and analyzing the results of surveys developed by CIRANO and administered to a sample of approximately 1000 respondents representative of the Quebec population. These surveys cover major issues for Quebec (related to health, environment, socio-economic context, industrial risks, innovations, infrastructures and public projects, and security).
