Claude Montmarquette passed away in September 2021, after a long and distinguished career in which he made significant contributions to public policy development and applied econometrics.

The Claude Montmarquette Scholarship is an initiative of his colleagues and collaborators at the Department of Economics of the Université de Montréal and CIRANO, as well as his friends, who wish to pay tribute to him and honor his memory.

The scholarship is open to students in a Bachelor of Science in Economics or a Bachelor of Mathematics and Economics (B.Sc.) of the Université de Montréal who intend to enroll in a Master's or Doctoral program in Economics and who demonstrate an interest in public policy.

The first scholarship will be offered in the 2022 fall.

For more information on the awarding of the scholarship and the fundraising campaign, you can visit the website of the Department of Economics of the University of Montreal

A tribute event will also be organized in the near future.
