Environmental and resource economics

A CIRANO Researcher since 2019, Charles Séguin is an associate professor in the Department of Economics at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He is also affiliated with the Institute for Environmental Sciences also at UQAM. His research interests are environmental and resource economics. He develops applied models to tackle dynamics pollution management problems, including climate change and lake eutrophication, and sustainable resource extraction. He uses optimal control and dynamic programming, along with numerical methods from computational economics, to devise policies to address these issues.
