Holder of a Ph.D. in sociology from Université Laval, Mircea Vultur is a full professor at the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS), Urbanisation Culture Société Research Centre. He is also Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Université Laval, co-head of the International Research Committee "Sociologie du Travail" affiliated with the International Association of French-Speaking Sociologists (AISLF) and Head of the "Travail et insertion professionnelle" axis at Observatoire Jeunes et Société.

Visiting professor at several European and South American universities (Université Paris-Dauphine, Université de Bretagne-Occidentale, Federal University of Santa Catarina, University of Porto Alegre, Aix-Marseille Université), author or coordinator of eight books among which ""La signification du travail", his current research focuses on the professional integration of university graduates and the phenomenon of overqualification. He recently opened a research project on the digital economy and its impact on work and employment.
