Researcher and CIRANO Fellow since 2011, Matthieu Chemin is Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at McGill University.
D. in Economics from the London School of Economics, his research focuses on exploring the conditions conducive to economic growth and development, such as the quality of institutions (judicial system), infrastructure (electricity) and markets (credit, insurance, labour). He is particularly interested in small entrepreneurs in less developed countries. For his studies, he uses rigorous micro-econometric techniques on secondary data, or data collected by his field research team.
