André Bisson was Chair of the CIRANO Board of Directors between 2002 and 2012. Holder of a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University, André Bisson was a professor at the Faculty of Business Administration at Université Laval before undertaking a successful career in the business community. Mr. Bisson was, among other things, Vice-President and General Manager (Quebec) of the Bank of Nova Scotia from 1971 to 1987. He served on approximately 40 Board Of Directors, including those of the Université de Montréal (1979 to 2003), INSEAD (1978 to 1998), Notre-Dame Hospital (1977 to 1996), AXA Canada (1990 to 2000), Power Financial (1986 to 2000). André Bisson has received numerous awards during his career. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada and has received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the Université du Québec and one from the Université de Montréal.
